Faculty Heiko Adams, D.P.M., Research Director Executive Committee Biographies Timothy Ford, D.P.M., ABPS, ABPOPPM is the Director of Residency Training with the Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare Podiatry Residency Program and was the Founder of The Kentucky Podiatric Residency Program, established in 1998. He is also a practicing podiatric physician and owner of Foot Doctors, P.S.C. and holds University Appointments at the University of Louisville within the Department of Orthopaedics and the Department of Family and Community Medicine. He is the current Chief of Podiatry at the University of Louisville. Dr. Ford completed his Bachelor of Arts degree at Temple University and Cleveland State University and his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (D.P.M.) at Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, located in Cleveland. He served his two-year Podiatric Medicine & Surgery Residency at The James C. Guiffre’ Medical Center, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Ford is a Fellow with the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons as well as the American College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Ford is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery (Diplomat) and the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics & Primary Podiatric Medicine (Diplomat). Dr. Ford serves on the Council on Podiatric Medical Education, is the current Chairman of the Joint Residency Review Committee and past President of the Kentucky Podiatric Medical Association. In 2007, he was recognized as the Kentucky Podiatrist of the Year. Dr. Ford is a member of many medical professional societies, including the American Podiatric Medical Association, the Kentucky Podiatric Medical Association, the American College of Foot Surgeons and the American College of Foot & Ankle Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine. Heiko Bernhardt Adams, D.P.M., FACFAS is a member of the at-large faculty and Research Director with the Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare Podiatry Residency Program. He is also a practicing physician and owner of First Choice Ankle & Foot Care Center, P.L.L.C. Dr. Adams attended Ashland Community College and was a Combat Engineer in the United States Army before completing his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Chemistry at Morehead State University and his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (D.P.M.) at Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, located in Cleveland. He completed a Rotating Podiatric Residency Program and a two-year Podiatric Surgical Residency Program with Forum Health, Western Reserve Care System, located in Youngstown, Ohio. Dr. Adams is Board Certified in Foot Surgery and Board Qualified in Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. Dr. Adams is a member of many medical professional societies, including the American Podiatric Medical Association, the Ohio Podiatric Medical Association and the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Benjamin Ivan McKinney, D.P.M. is a member of the at-large faculty with the Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare Podiatry Residency Program. Dr. McKinney obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry & Science Education, with a minor in Mathematics, from Elon College, located in Elon, North Carolina. He also attended Finch University of Health Sciences, located in Chicago, Illinois, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (D.P.M.) at the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed a three-year residency with The Kentucky Podiatric Residency Program at Norton Audubon Hospital and the University of Louisville. Dr. McKinney is a member of many medical professional societies, including the American Podiatric Medical Association, the Kentucky Podiatric Medical Association and the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Robert G. Levine, D.P.M. is the Externship Director with the Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare Podiatry Residency Program. He is also a practicing physician and part-owner of Podiatric Physicians of Kentucky. Dr. Levine is a Clinical Instructor at the University of Kentucky-Jefferson Communication College, Division of Health and the University of Louisville College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Levine attended Rochester Institute of Technology and the University of Connecticut for his undergraduate studies and Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine, located in Philadelphia, where he earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (D.P.M.). He completed two Externships, one at Fairmont Medical Clinic in Fairmont, Virginia and the other at Hebrew Home for the Aged in Rosalindale, Massachusetts. In addition, he completed the Harvard University Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency Program at the New England Deaconess Hospital, located in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Levine is Board Eligible by the American Board of Foot Surgery, Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and completed certification from the American Board of Quality Assurance & Utilization Review. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgery. Dr. Levine is a member of many medical professional societies, including the Kentucky Podiatric Medical Association, the American College of Foot Surgeons, the American Board of Hospital Podiatrists and the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine. William R. Brown, D.P.M. is a member of the at-large faculty with the Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare Podiatry Residency Program. He is also a practicing physician and part-owner of Podiatric Physicians of Kentucky. Dr. Brown earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Grove City College, located in Grove City, Pennsylvania and his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (D.P.M.) at Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, located in Cleveland. He completed a Podiatric Surgical Residency Program at Richmond Heights General Hospital in Richmond Heights, Ohio and at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Hayward, California, where he was Chief Resident. Dr. Brown is Board Qualified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is a member of many medical professional societies, including the American Podiatric Medical Association, the Kentucky Podiatric Medical Association, the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and is a member of the National Eagle Scout Association. Lynn Simon, M.D., M.B.A., FACHE is the Chief Medical Office of Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare, supporter of the Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare Podiatry Residency Program. Dr. Simon earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at Indiana University in Bloomington, her Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Louisville and her Master’s of Business Administration from Bellarmine University, located in Louisville, Kentucky. She held a Medical Internship at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois and completed a Neurology Residency Program at Stanford University in Stanford, California. Before coming to Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare, Dr. Simon had her own private practice in neurology and was Medical Administrator and Vice President of Medical Affairs at Jewish Hospital. She is Board Certified in Neurology, is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), a Fellow of the American Institute for Healthcare Quality (AIHQ) and Certified by the American Board of Quality & Utilization Review Physicians, Inc. (ABQAURP). Dr. Simon has accomplished many goals in her professional career, from her private practice to her current position. She was twice voted “Top Doc” by peers in Louisville Magazine and helped develop the Emergency Stroke Center at Jewish Hospital. Her work with Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare also includes many other initiatives—including the merging of two organizations, the implementation of the remote eICU® system, allowing patients and physicians to be in different locations while still receiving optimal care, and the implementation of a system-wide Medical Executive Committee, just to name a few. Dr. Simon is a member of many medical professional societies, including the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians, the American College of Healthcare Executives, the American College of Physician Executives, the American College of Medical Quality, the Greater Louisville Medical Society and the Kentucky Medical Society. |
